The Wood County Fire Investigation Team has ended its investigation of Thursday's storage fire, but the probe is far from over.
FIT member Danny Goodwin tells WTAP that the Gihon Road fire has been ruled as arson.
Goodwin, who is the Vienna Volunteer Fire Chief, says they have now handed the investigation over to the State Fire Marshal's Office.
It took 48 firefighters from seven departments to battle the blaze at the storage facility that destroyed part of the building.
No injuries were reported, but smoke could be seen for miles.

Dispatchers say the Thursday afternoon fire at the Southside Self-Storage Facility off of Gihon Road in Parkersburg is now under control.

Our reporter on the scene reports the fire at the Southside Storage facility is almost out, but heavy smoke is still coming from many units.
The Washington Bottom and Waverly Volunteer Fire Departments are now assisting the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department in the self-storage facility fire.
Additional firefighters are being requested at this time from the Pond Creek and Waverly Eastwood Fire Departments.
Gihon Road remains closed.

Wood County 911 tells WTAP that Gihon Road is now CLOSED because of the self-storage facility fire. Drivers should avoid Gihon Road until further notice

Firefighters are battling a major blaze that erupted around noon Thursday at the Southside Self-Storage Facility in Parkersburg.
The facility is located directly across Gihon Road from the Godby Fields.
Heavy smoke is visible. The fire may have spread to as many as a dozen units.
The Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department is on the scene.
