A 3.1 magnitude earthquake shook Washington County yesterday, just one week after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake left the east coast trembling.

Now the question is "Where were you when the quake hit?"

I can tell you where I was for both:

As you may know, I work the morning show, so by 1 p.m. I'm home and by 1:30 p.m. you might just find me napping, as I was on the day of last Wednesday's shake up.

So, here I am in bed ready for a nap when Valentine, my dog, looked at me with a quizzical look.

At that moment the house began to shake for a few seconds and I thought to myself, "man that must have been a big truck driving by!"

20 minutes later my mom called asking about the "earthquake" and that is how I became an earthquake survivor.

Now, I did not feel the other tremor felt in Washington County yesterday (August 31st).

However, as soon as it happened at around 5:30 a.m. the phones in the newsroom lit up.

Obviously I could not answer every call because I was at the news desk anchoring Daybreak, but thanks to all of the viewers who called in, I for sure will not forget the Reno-area earthquake either.

So, where were you?

I was riding my motorcycle when the earth moved. I didn't realize it was an earthquake until after I got to school, and people were talking about a quake or something...

I was sitting at my desk at work when I felt the building just barely swaying. I looked over at the cubicle wall and coud see it slowly moving back and forth. I asked a coworker if she could feel it and she said, "Earthquake?" I replied, "It would seem so!"

I was sitting outside on the terrace reading, both dogs were at my feet happily napping.. Tonka the oldest, jumped up from a sound sleep and began barking at me..Gator took Tonka's lead and also began barking! Within seconds I felt the ground shake, I look up and the umbrella was moving.. What was that I ask the dogs! lol At that point my daughter comes into the driveway.. We look at each other "did you feel that?" Mom, did you feel that?" "the railing on the porch is creaking" Razz on the radio made the announcement of an earthquake. Wow so much excitement.. Brittany, that makes me an earthquake survivor!
