I've have officially lived here in the Mid-Ohio valley for 4 months now, and while I enjoy the company of my colleagues at WTAP while at work, a fluffy, cuddly, companion is much needed when I return from my long...tiring days of reporting the news to you! Back at home, in the Cleveland area, my family has a loving, sweet, cuddly.....well, who am I kidding....my dog back at home is a little insane. Gretel is a 12 year old Cock-A-Poo bundle of hyper. We chose the name Gretel after seeing "The Sound of Music" on Broadway for the first time. The youngest VonTrapp child's name is Gretel and the name just kind of stuck! Gretel is a great dog, just a little crazy. Let me give you an example.... There was a large raccoon seen during the daylight outside my Cleveland area home. My 15 pound Cock-A-Poo decided she was going to take care of the problem. Gretel ran over the to raccoon and jumped right on top of it, acting like she was going to be able to do damage to a best 2 times her size. Fortunately, Gretel was not injured, and the raccoon (rabies free) was captured by animal control. Apparently, Gretel thinks she was a watch dog in her former life, and God bless her for trying to protect our family. Although Gretel is a bit of a nut at times, I do miss her terribly. And something to make me less lonely here here in the MOV would be a puppy! Unfortunately, members of my family are allergic to cats, otherwise, I would have already adopted a furry little kitten. I have been on the search to rescue a dog. I am looking for something on the very small side. I am also open to different breeds, as long as he or she doesn't grow too large in size. If you happen to come across the perfect pet for me, please e-mail me and let me know! Gretel will be jealous of my new friend, but I believe it may help me become less homesick to have a furry friend around! |
