It’s time to take a look at the events going on this weekend. Today is a big day for arts activities, so let’s start at 11. The Kid’s Concert/Mini-Fest presented by ARTSBRIDGE happens at the Parkersburg City Park. 11 AM-2 PM. The musical performance features the award-winning Musician Zak Morgan from 12-1 PM. As well as arts activities for the whole family. Thursday evening the Mayor’s Music Series features Fiddler Jake Krack, with presented by ARTSBRIDGE at the Band Shell at Parkersburg City Park at 7 PM. sponsor is WesBanco And in Marietta this evening Music in the Park features Praise Alpha and Omega at the gazebo in East Muskingum Park.7 PM.
Tomorrow, the Kid’s Concert will be in Marietta with nationally-acclaimed Musician Zak Morgan at the Mid-Ohio Valley Players Theatre at noon. Then in the evening, The Mayor’s Third Friday Jubilee features Nothin’ Fancy Bluegrass Band and Sweetcorn Festival. That’s on Front Street in front of the Armory from 6-9 PM.
FS: Film screening at Actors Guild 304/485-3859
On Saturday “Who Does She Think She Is”, a documentary by former resident and award-winning producer Pam Tanner Boll, will be shown at the Actors Guild Playhouse at 3 PM. The event will be followed by a cocktail reception at the Art Center to honor Pam. Proceeds will benefit the Parkersburg Art Center. Call 304-485-3859 for reservations.
FS 2: Sunday Sundae Cruise 420-4800
This Sunday the Broughton ice cream social happens at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 2-6 pm. And there will be a “Sunday Sundae Cruise” with a brief stop for ice cream on Blennerhassett Island. Boarding begins at 6:30 pm in Parkersburg. Call 304-420-4800.
Next Tuesday, Concerts by the River in Belpre features the Gospel Music Reunion Choir presented by the Belpre Woman’s Club at Belpre Civitan Park at 7:30 PM.
Your last chance to see Paul Borrelli’s Parkersburg Historic Photographs Exhibit at WesBanco is July 30th. The Colony Film Festival Committee is still accepting submissions for the fall festival, through Aug 20. . For more information visit www.colonyfilmfestival.com.
