West Virginia deserves a national recognition for our sports teams. I think Wood County is privileged to have such great athletes and students who want to prevail over all others. We should be very proud of our athletic teams for doing such a remarkable job. We will always have rivalries whether it is across the river or in neighboring counties. Nevertheless, the rivalry our schools have for each other is what makes our athletes strive for that ultimate victory. The citizens of Wood County should hold their heads high as they reflect on the past and present victories. For Parkersburg to be in a state competition is nothing out of the ordinary. However, we are in a national competition that is making West Virginia stand out in the midst of the nation. We should acknowledge our athletes and show the nation that Parkersburg athletics never give up as they work hard and go all-out for victory. Let’make a serious and genuine effort to accomplish something that Parkersburg will be proud of.

Are we voting for PHS or all the schools? If it's a county thing why play a blow out game on espn? Why wouldn't a closer hard fought game be chosen?

It's a sad state of affairs when Parkersburg is up or "Titletown". That's embarrassing.
