One of the areas hard hit by Tuesday's early morning heavy thunderstorms was the Spider Ridge area of Wood County.

Downed tree limbs could be found all along the narrow road which runs through the community.

And while the storm hit around 5 A.M., crews were still out at lunch time working to restore power and t-v cable service.

"They haven't got anything turned on yet," resident Roy Wells told us at that time. "There's still cable within sight of here. We'll probably be out the rest of the day."

Wells said he was taking it all in stride, however...telling us that it's a problem residents expect, who live in a rural area.

There were multiple trees down in the Stone Creek development. Some were twisted up and broken halfway up. Altogether, maybe 10 or more trees were down within this app. half-mile radius. There was damage to several homes, including a deck upon which a tree fell, causing some damage to the structure. Residents concur that the damage was caused by straight-line winds or a microburst, while some believe there may have been some tornadic rotation involved. The residents of this area have photos and video recordings of the damage.
