A Washington County man is in custody right now for allegedly killing a woman at her Lang's Farm Road home, in Marietta.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says Noal Quattlebaum is being charged with murder, after authorities found 21-year-old Amber Wesley, dead in her home.

Mincks says, after allegedly committing the homicide, Quattlebaum went to his parent's house in Waterford.

Sheriff Mincks says Quattlebaum's parents suspected there was something going on with Quattlebaum and Wesley, his live-in girlfriend, so they called the authorities.

Officials with the Sheriff's Department found Wesley's body and then arrested Quattlebaum at a residence in Waterford.

Mincks says Quattlebaum told detectives that he choked Wesley, who struggled and hit him in the face with a coffee mug.

Detectives say he continued to choke her and after she died, he bound her arms and legs and wrapped her in a blanket, leaving her in their Lang's Farm Road home.

Quattlebaum is now in the Washington County jail where he awaits a hearing.

Quattlebaum and Wesley shared the Marietta home with their child.

My husband and I were friends with both amber and noal. Knowing that there were problems in their relationship, I can honestly say no one ever expected this to happen. Amber will be missed very much. The girls as well as Carol, Mark, Felicia, and Noal will be in all of our thoughts and prayers.

Amber will truly be missed by me and my 4 children as well. We all loved her and the girls. My 12 year old was so worried about Victoria and Rozalyn she called child services to see if thats where they were brought. Of course they couldnt tell her anything but she went on and found other ways to see where they were. She mamaged to get in touch with someone who told her where the girls were and that they were fine. Thats how much she loves them. I give thanks to the woman who gave my daughter an answer and a whole lot of relief. I cant write what she says should happen to Noal but she believes he shouldnt have the right to live. He not only took her life he took away Victorias and Rozalyns mommy. Amber we love you and we will miss you. May you rest in peace and we will pray Noal gets what he deserves for taking you away from them babies.

This is very sad my heart goes out to the families and children. I agree that the law around here doesn't protect the victims, and almost act afraid of the attackers.

All I can really say is that it's sad that it all came to this.....because our Washington County justice system was too late on all this because something should have been done before it all lead to this......it says that they fought all the time and I know them: Amber and noal. Believe me something should have been done about all of it when it started then maybe someone would still have their lil' girl still alive today. But what do you expect coming from the police around here? They want to wait, wait, wait 'til something as sad as this is happens but they will bend over backwards to try to keep pedaphiles safe! Well someone should have been looking out for her and this wouldn't be happening right now....thank you and AMBER YOU WILL BE LOVED AND MISSED FOREVER

I have also known Amber & her mother, Carol for over 5 years and can't understand why the police didn't do something more to help Amber & her children to get away from the situation and to STAY away from it. Not only did Noel need counseling and re-training of his thoughts and actions process but Amber did as well. As a former "Victim", and I use that term losely, of Domestic Violence I can tell you that it takes 2 to keep a fight going, whether that be physical or other. The courts, most of the time, will send the "abuser" to couseling and leave the "victim" to find their own way. When this type of situation affects a child(ren) all those involved need the courts and society to be there for them and show them how to change their way of life for the better. Charity use to start at home but I believe now that is not the case. I want a better life for my loved one's and would do the same to help another to acheive the same.

Noel had once dated my daughter in high school and helped her thru a very difficult time in their lives. We (Noel & I) had become very close during that time and after the break-up he remained a friend to me and always refered to me as MOM. My heart felt deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Mark & Felicia during this difficult time and they will be in my prayers, as well as the children will be, forever. To Noel, I say I love you my son and I am here if you ever need me!! To Carol, Amber's mother, as a mother I am deeply saddened by your lose.

How horrible for those children. This guy needs locked up for good. I feel bad for his parents. Sounds like they may have been afraid of him also?
