It took a while to get the site and the leadership worked out...but preparations are now full speed ahead for this year's Parkersburg Homecoming Festival.
Although the venue for this year's festival has changed...most of the events will be the same as in the 25 previous Parkersburg Homecomings.
And that includes the event which will draw some of the weekend's largest crowds.
"Even though Point Park will probably be blocked," says Homecoming Chairwoman Jenni Reed, "and the public will not be able to go down there, we have worked with Zambelli Fireworks, and they will be shooting up above the floodwall. So you will be able to see them inside the floodwall this year."
The homecoming committee is currently holding a series of fundraisers, including a gas card giveaway.
The homecoming runs from August 15th through the 17th.
