A Washington County man accused of murdering his girlfriend Tuesday was in court Wednesday.

Noal Quattlebaum was on closed circuit television in Judge Janet Welch's courtroom for his arraignment.

Judge Welch set Quattlebaum's bond at $250-thousand.

The arraignment was continued until Friday so Quattlebaum can get an lawyer.

Yesterday, officers arrested Noal Quattlebaum for allegedly strangling his girlfriend, Amber Wesley, after an argument.

I felt that I needed to clear up what I was meaning by my last comment. When I said that Amber Wesley was not the victim and Noal was, I did not mean in the end. Throughout their relationship, Noal was always taking to court as the aggressor but he wasn't what people made him out to be. I feel bad for how my last comment sounded. Yes it is a horrible thing with what happened. Amber Wesley is the victim in the death but with the relationship, she was the aggressor. I want everyone to know that I stand fully behind Noal. I know that he is not a person to hit a female or treat her wrong. He had enough and snapped. I'm hope that this clears up what I meant about my last comment because I know that some people took it the wrong way and I'm very sorry.

i have somewhat grown up with noal. when i lived in new mat and when he was around he was so nice and he would do any thing for anyone. he would take the shirt off his back and give it to you if you needed it .so i don't know what really happened .so i can't so that he is a monster but in my eyes he's not because of the way he was around me... but i am sorry for both families

I am not going to pretend I know the whole story, because it sounds like noone does. But the news did say they were arguing and she hit him with something, so how often did this behavior happen. My thought is why is it when women are abused and i was one that was, but if they kill the husband, boyfriend etc. It is considered battered woman sydrome or self defense, why is it so hard for us to admit that this can also happen to men, how do we know that he wasn't suffering from Battered Mens syndrome. Maybe he was afraid to get out for what ever reason, maybe because we don't have battered men shelters. We as humans need to understand that just because men are typically bigger and stronger physically doesn't mean they are stronger mentally or that they are always the abuser. Just because she was a good mother doesn't mean that she was a good spouse. And the kids did lose there mother but in reality they will ultimately lose there father so as i see it they are the true victims how tragic!

I went to school with Amber and she was such a loving and wonderful person. She was taken from this world at such a young age. The true victims are Amber's two children. My sympathy goes out to both the Quattlebaum and Wesley families.

I have known Noal for 6 years and anyone who really knows him knows that he would NEVER hit a female even to defend himself. He has always been a very respectful person. He is a really caring man who is a great father and does his best to be a great boyfriend to. I think that if people are going to say things about him, they need to think before they do, definately if they don't know who he is. He dated my sister on and off for 2 years and always treated her with the upmost respect. He never lost his temper. I believe that he is the victim in this case. He was pushed to the limits by Amber and finally snapped. He never would do something like this if he wasn't the victim for the past 3 years of their relationship. I am very sorry for Amber's family. I know they care about her very much. But she's not the victim. Noal is.

noal is a great father and a great person.the media is acting as if he is a monster and he's not i should know i'm his sister.you want to talk about someone being a victim lets talk about noal! For the past three and half years he was abused by amber wesley physically, mentaly, and emontionaly.he didnt mean to do what he did and yes it was wrong very wrong but he had enough and he just snapped.i know its a terrible thing that happened and even though we all had our problems with amber no one wanted it to go this far. they were told time and time again to get away from eachother before something bad happens and guess what something bad happened.i love my brother and nothing will change that he is not a murderer he was defending his self from an abusive woman!!!even though the girls are little they will know their mother by pictures and the good memories we have to tell them about. And for the men being abused by woman please stand up and let it be heard dont be ashamed.
