State Treasurer John Perdue has cash, stock shares and unclaimed insurance policies for about 12,000 people.

Each year the state tries to locate the rightful owners of property often left behind in safe deposit boxes.

Perdue spokesman, Nelson Sorah, says the state has returned $60 million worth of property since 1997.
