The Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport is looking for ways to get the word out about its proposed $2.8 million levy.

Airport manager Terry Moore says, aside from media advertising, ideas include speaking to organizations about the need for the levy, which will be on the November ballot.

The issue will need a "yes" vote from 60% of those casting ballots for passage.

"It's a national election, so I think it will be a really good turnout," Moore says. "It's an opportunity for people to voice their mind on it. So, in that regard, I think it will be good."

The ideas were discussed Friday morning, at a joint meeting of the county and regional airport boards.

Here I'll help: Please vote for this ridiculous levy. We at the airport offer lousy service at outrageous prices & we would like to continue to rip you off by sucking more tax money out of you, the over-taxed citizens of Wood County, WV. PS: Please don't expect this money to actually go to the airport.

I don't think it should be soley up to Wood COunty residents to subsidize the airport. Many from Ohio also use the facility. Most of the folks I know never fly out of Wood county, so lets be fair, if flyers want the convience let them pay for it or let them drive to Charleston, or Columbus to catch their palnes, it is not up to the non flying public to support this project. I pay taxes to support the schools though I have to kids in school, I pay taxes to support public transportation though no bus line runs close to my home, I pay taxes to help those on welfare though I do not qualify for any assistance, but I draw the line at helping to support a regionla airport that can't epp it's head above water. Enough is enough.
