It's been a few years since the 1092nd Engineer Unit was deployed in the early years of the Iraq war.
But the National Guard Armory which serves as it's headquarters has remained busy...and that's what the Guard displayed to local residents at an open house Saturday.
One difference is that the Blizzard Drive armory no longer is just the home of the 1092nd.
"We're getting two new units here...so there will be three units residing here at Parkersburg," Capt. Melvin Hodges explained.
The goal of the open house was to interest people in joining both the 1092nd and the newer local guard units.
More than 30 people took part in a blood drive during the event.
