Monday kicks off Fire Prevention Week and local firefighters are taking their safety message to the streets!
Tuesday night, Ohio River Valley Firefighters are hosting their very first Fire Prevention Parade.
Previously, each fire department held its own parade to wrap up Fire Prevention Week.
But this year, firefighters want folks to see how the departments work together.
"Belpre, Parkersburg, Newport, St. Marys. All of these departments help each other out constantly and so we wanted to do something that showed that unity and so that was the idea behind this fire prevention parade," says Marietta Fire Department Chief Tom Dempsey.
The parade kicks off at six-thirty tomorrow night.
It starts at Tomlinson Park in Williamstown, crosses the Williamstown bridge and ends at Muskingum Park in Marietta.
All are encouraged to attend and support our local firefighters!
