The current economic backdrop can be quite a stressor for anyone and it's one of the reasons why people go to the Counseling and Wellness Center for help.
The director of the center, Dr. Priscilla Leavitt said people don't come in just because of the economy but it's often one of the anxieties they talk about once they get there.
"We're in the middle of politics, economic, and not to mention relationship stresses so it's a stressful time and I think that anything people can do to support one another to be kinder, to smile a little more often, and to bolster each other up that's really the helpful thing to do now," said Dr. Leavitt.
She said if you're stressed remember to take stock, make plans, and realize what looks terrible if you worry and project the worst case scenario won't actually be that bad.
Dr. Leavitt also said look at situations realistically and don't make decisions out of fear.
