A local businessman who was arrested last week on a fraud charge has been extradited to West Virginia.

Bill Thayer was arrested, in Marietta, for false pretense with intent to fraud.

Officials say Thayer never paid a helicopter company he had hired for air tours over the summer.

Back in January, Thayer leased hanger number 5 at the Mid Ohio Valley Regional Airport and planned on bringing more planes to the airport.

Officials say the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are pending.

Thayer is currently being held in the North Central Regional Jail and awaits a hearing.
