Columbus, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio is on the verge of a second temporary budget as a full two-year plan continues to elude lawmakers and Gov. Ted Strickland.
The Ohio Senate plans to vote on another seven-day budget on Monday.
The house last week approved the plan to fund state government from July 8 through July 14.
Lawmakers appear no closer to resolving a disagreement over strickland's proposal to put slot machines at Ohio's seven race tracks.
The democrat says the plan would raise $933 million, but republicans who control the senate say it has "fatal flaws."
The senate plans another hearing on the proposal Monday, while the house plans to explore what $1 billion in additional cuts would look like.
The budget currently in front of lawmakers has a $3.2 billion deficit.
