Lebanon, Ohio (AP) -- Commissioners in a southwest Ohio county are backing off their threat to file a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of slots-type video terminals.

A bill approved by the legislature this week will let the lottery commission license video slot machines at Ohio's seven racetracks to help fill a gap in the state's two-year budget.

Warren County Commissioners oppose slots at Lebanon Raceway, which holds harness races and has a simulcasting facility at the county fairgrounds.

They said Tuesday that they asked their legal counsel to look into a possible lawsuit, but by Wednesday had decided to let others take up the fight.

Members of the Ohio Council of Churches were meeting in Columbus to talk about legal action and a grass-roots campaign to stop racetrack slots.
