Housing Other Counties' Inmates
The Washington County Jail has been open for five years, but one of the main factors that helps the jail maintain operations doesn't include Washington County inmates.

Why would you want to let drug offenders out of jail? The jail holds 124 inmates. And if I'm not mistaken, drugs usually lead to more vicious crimes. mov, that is one ignorant posting.

MOV - I prefer druggies stay in jail. Druggies steal. Druggies drive vehicles. Druggies get other people hooked on drugs.

Hey mov all you have to do is go to www.washingtoncountysheriff.org and you will see we have the same thing here. Just about every other name on the inmate list has a drug charge.

The sad part is many of the officers and administrators should be sitting right beside the other inmates. It is sad if you wear a badge you think you are above the law, however one day it will come back to haunt them. Not saying the ones in there dont deserve to be there. But there are many that should be enforcing the law are breaking it.drinking and driving, illegal poker games, and drugs. They know who I am talking about.

How about letting all the inmates that are in there on drug charges out? I know 65% of west virginia's inmates are locked up on drug charges. It's a waste of space that could and should be filled with some more hardcore criminals. I can only imagine how many in washington county alone are locked up for drugs.
