Sunday the Big Sandy Superstore in Parkersburg kicked off its first ever food drive.
The food will be going to the Family Crisis Intervention Center for their food pantry.
Big Sandy Superstore employees said they wanted to help the center because the center's food pantry is extremely low.
The store gathered six bags of non-perishable items so far and they are hoping for much more.
"We've all tried to pitch in, and we have taken promotional items to area businesses to try to get them interested in it. Hopefully we will have a big drive for the Family Crisis Intervention Center so we can give them all the food they need before Thanksgiving," said Arlene Ewing with Big Sandy Superstore.
The store will be accepting non-perishable items and money donations through November 24th during the stores hours Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
