Giving was the theme Sunday at the Grand Central Mall when thousands of people came out for the "Magical Night of Giving."
Shoppers got big surprises as gift certificates were handed out to them at registers.
More than 37 gift certificates were randomly given out with amounts up to 200 dollars.
The giving continued with 100 percent of the $5 dollar entry fee into the mall going to 70 non-profit organizations in the valley.
More than 8,000 shoppers hit the stores from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
"It's really important for us to give back to the community in this way. Every year it raises about 40,000 dollars for the participating non-profit groups. So we are very excited," said Katrina Stephens the Marketing Director of the Grand Central Mall.
This was the 12th year for the "Magical Night of Giving."
