Beckley, W.Va. (AP) -- A statewide group that seeks changes in how West Virginia pays for its roads is holding a conference in Beckley this week.
West Virginians for better transportation has scheduled the conference for Tuesday. Rep. Nick Rahall will be the keynote speaker.
Other speakers include Gov. Joe Manchin, state transportation secretary Paul Mattox, and the chairmen of the house of delegates and senate finance committees.
The group's chairman, Joe Deneault says he hopes the speakers will offer ideas for finding new revenue sources to pay for road construction and maintenance.
The state road fund's revenue is $3.3 million below projections for the year.
