Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd is already the longest-serving senator of all time, and he's ready to mark another milestone.
On Wednesday, Byrd will become the longest serving member of either House of Congress.
Gov. Joe Manchin says there will be a celebration of Byrd's achievement next Wednesday at the State Capitol.
Manchin and other speakers will gather before Byrd's statue in the Capitol to pay tribute to the democrat.
After the remarks, there will be an exhibit showing photos and memorabilia from throughout Byrd's career, including his famous fiddle.
The celebration will take place two days before Byrd's 92nd birthday.
