Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital is being recognized by hundreds of area residents who were surveyed by the National Research Corporation.

Camden-Clark received the Consumer Choice Award this year from the National Research Corporation's Healthcare Market Guide Division. This division conducts the Ticker survey.

Representatives said the 340 residents who responded voted Camden-Clark as having the best doctors, nurses, overall quality, image and reputation.

Mike King, CEO of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital said "We've been working on different projects to improve our patient experience at Camden-Clark for the last several years and what's so nice about this it's such a surprise to us that it validates all of the work that we've been doing."

The Healthcare Market Guide Division conducts Ticker surveys in 300 markets across the country on the quality of healthcare service.

This is the first year the division did this web-based survey in the Marietta and Parkersburg area between September of 2008 and August of 2009.

Representatives said the corporation will be giving out the award to healthcare systems each year.
