The Lee Middleton Doll Company has been acquired by New York-based Alexander Doll Factory.
Alexander, which manufactures the Madame Alexander doll line, acquired Middleton's business assets as of Thursday, March 11.
Company C.E.O. Rob Porell says it is "considering its options" for its Belpre site, which has been in operation since 1989.
The Middleton Doll site on Washington Boulevard has been for sale since last summer.
Local officials previously said even if the plant was sold, it was hoped the business would continue.
