With the beautiful weather on Saturday it was the perfect day to hold the first ever Kite Fest in Mineral Wells. The Festival was put on by the New Era School, a one room school museum where kids can come and see what school was like before larger separate classroom schools were built. The Fest was designed for the whole family.

Max Barker the Pres. of New Era School says "we wanted to develop something to get kids and their family out. Get a little exercise, some family fun. And also, to show our New Era School here, our living history museum."

The wind was a bit light for perfect kite flying conditions but organizers tell us everyone involved seemed to be enjoying themselves with or without the breeze.
