Investigators confirm Ayane and Aurhyauna died of smoke inhalation. Captain Tim Flinn says the fire department did not find any evidence of smoke detectors in the home. But the owner and occupants say they were in the home, but weren't working.
There are conflicting reports about who saved young Anton from the fire, and investigators are conducting interviews to determine what happened.
The father of the two girls, Dustin Keel, was put on three years probation for pleading guilty to one charge of delivering a controlled substance. He now sits in jail for violating that probation 22 times.
He was arrested last July for domestic battery against his juvenile son Anton.
Police reports say Keel slapped his son on the face causing redness and minor bruising that lasted through the next day.
Keel pleaded guilty to that charge.

UPDATE: 2/6/2012 10:19 PM
Investigators say the fire started started on the first floor near a gas fired wall heater.
"We'd like to thank the neighbor who risked his life to go inside and save our great nephew, and we appreciate him going back in and trying to save our great nieces. We appreciate the firemen who risked their lives to try and save our great nieces. Thank you," say family members.
Friends and family remember the lives of Ayane and Aurhyauna. Two little sisters who died in this fast moving house fire.
"i just want everyone to keep in mind that this was a great tragedy and also it's a great tragedy for the firefighters as well. it's very difficult especially when there are children involved," says Chief Eric Taylor.
The family says their father Dustin Keel tried to get the sisters out, but was turned back by the fire. Instead he found himself in jail.
Court documents show Dustin Keel has a history with the law.
"You know this fire was a huge tragedy., and Mr. Keel's pending legal issues are extremely unfortunate. But it has nothing to do with him or this fire. This is a matter that a warrant was issued in circuit court on January 30Th and we have by state law to execute that warrant," says Sergeant Greg Collins with the Parkersburg Police Department.
On March 30Th, 2009 Keel pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance. He faced five years in prison, but instead served 161 days, and received three years probation.
"The rules of his probation were rules that are given to anybody that is released on probation. And in this particular warrant there were 22 different allegations of alleged violations of his probation," says Sergeant Collins.
Keel is being held in the North Central Regional Jail until a court date is set.
A grand jury indicted both Dustin Keel and the mother Angela Smith on three counts of child neglect with substantial risk of bodily injury or death.
Those charges came in January of 2010, but the prosecutors office says they were dismissed due to a lack of evidence.

"I just want everyone to keep in mind that this was a great tragedy and also it's a great tragedy for the firefighters as well. It's very difficult especially when there are children involved," says Parkersburg Fire Chief Eric Taylor.
Two young girls killed in a fire that destroyed a Parkersburg home.Their brother made it out alive. He was on the first floor, rescued by a neighbor.
But the flames were too strong to save 2 year old Ayane and 4 year old Aurhyauna were upstairs.
"It was a very difficult fire to fight. We had multiple sources. The home was very well involved even just upon our arrival. We had some complications with where the fire was located in proximity to the electrical service and once the fire was under control it continue to smolder within the walls for awhile," says Chief Taylor.
There are now memorials here at the home where the fire took place. Honoring the two young girls who were killed inside.
"We do believe it was accidental in nature," says Chief Taylor.
A tragedy the community recognizes. Friends and family gather outside the home remembering the young lives lost. Grieving, but thanking those who tried to save two young lives.
"We'd like to thank the neighbor who risked his life to go inside and save our great nephew, and we appreciate him going back in and trying to save our great nieces. We appreciate the firemen who risked their lives to try and save our great nieces. Thank you," say great aunts Jacki Smith and Toni Johnson.
