A Parkersburg Catholic High School teacher got a treat of her own Tuesday.

Mrs. Martha Kinsler is October's Jan Dils and WTAP Golden Apple award winner.

Mrs. Kinsler is a math teacher, and was nominated for weekend tutoring, and pushing for higher education.

She says she took some official time off from teaching to raise her children, but still tutored at her church.

She's been back to work for eight years now, and couldn't be happier.

"I can't not teach. I always teach, no matter what I'm doing. I love teaching! I tell my students I hope they love their job as much as I love mine. I feel like this award is something for the entire faculty, not just something for me, because we support each other. We are who we are as individuals, because of who we are as an entire faculty," she says.

Mrs. Hinsler's husband was also on hand Tuesday, to help surprise her during the award assembly.
