Behind every kid's success, are strong parents and teachers, pushing them along the way.

And there is a classroom full of kids in Marietta getting off on the right foot, thanks to a special kindegarten teacher.

We presented the Jan Dils Golden Apple Award Tuesday to Ms. Tessa Hill at Phillip's Elementary.

Ms. Hill has been teaching young students for five years now, and says it's easy to stay motivated and focused on her goals.

"Just to make sure the kids are learning and that they know that I believe in them. And that they can learn even when it's hard sometimes for them. Just to know they are loved and believed in is the main thing for me," she says.

Ms. Hill was nominated for all her hard work, and for one instance when she took the time to visit a student in the hospital.

Congratulations to her!

I think Mr.Vierheller (PCES teacher)should be awarded the Golden Apple Award. He is very focused in his work and does not joke about grades. Every subject is important to him. I think everybody at PCES thinks he is a sometimes strict teacher, but a very good teacher. Strict in a good way as in ,"keep focused" I think any kid who goes to Parkersburg Catholic Elementary would agree. If you could just see how great of a teacher he is I think you would nominate him too. Thank you for listening to what I have to say abuot my teacher. Go Crusaders!!!!
