An area educator is making sure her students have a positive future and that's why she is this month's Jan Dils Golden Apple award winner!

We surprised Ms. Paige Fleming with the award, during one of her math classes at Marietta Middle School.

In her 24 years of teaching, Ms. Fleming has taught every academic subject, but says math is her favorite.

She was nominated for the extra help she offers students outside of the classroom, when they have to miss a lot of class.

The students also consider her a friend and it's easy to see why.

"This is the best job in the world. I have the best job in Marietta City Schools, because of my kids," she says. "This is the biggest honor I could get. It's tremendous to be recognized by your students, and know that I've meant something to them."
