There are so many wonderful educators in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and each month we honor one who is extra special.
Mrs. Denise Lindamood is that teacher!
She is March's Jan Dils Golden Apple Award winner!
Mrs. Lindamood loves her second grade students at Emerson Elementary, and it shows.
She was nominated for looking beyond a "problem child" label, and helping one kid in particular learn to love school.
The nominating parents call her an angel and say all the parents have nothing but gratitude and admiration for her.
Mrs. Lindamood says she is honored to be recognized, but says her career is the real reward.
"I love it! It's something that ever since I was a child, I wanted to do. My mother was a teacher and I think that probably laid the foundation and I've always had a love for children. There isn't a more rewarding job. When you see that you've reached a child that couldn't grasp a concept, and when you see that light come on, there isn't anything more rewarding! I appreciate it! I do what I love to do and I'm glad that I've made a difference," she says.
Congratulations Mrs. Lindamood!
