Wirt County Middle School Teacher Mrs. Linda Moss is going out with a bang!

As she prepares for the golden years of retirement, we surprised her with this month's Jan Dils Golden Apple award.

The students adore and respect her, and she even works a booth at the county fair to raise money for sick children.

She's been at it for more than 30 years and even taught some of the current teachers at the middle school!

She says she's thankful she's had so many rewarding years.

"Just watching the kids bloom, and how they change, how they grow.
What will i miss most? Seeing all the smiling faces everyday and the hugs, and hearing them holler from down the hall, I love you," she says.

She also says she hopes some of her students go on to become educators.
