Mr. Randall Brannon from Edison Junior High received the last Jan Dils Golden Apple Award for this school year.

He teaches instrumental music class, and has taken three separate school bands to the top!

The nominating parent says he provides his students with skills, knowledge, and experiences that will last them a lifetime.

"My teaching philosophy, as far as instrumental music, is I want each kid to do the best that that student can do. But they have to enjoy it along the way. You've got to know when to push it and when to stop pushing, so everyone enjoys it," Mr. Brannon says.

Mr. Brannon is retiring this year and says it's bittersweet. He says the students, teachers, and administration have been wonderful and he will miss the people the most. He joked that he would have retired sooner if he knew how nice everyone would be.

He's not quitting all together though, he will be helping out with the marching band at Parkersburg South High School and teaching some at Marietta College.

Congratulations Mr. Brannon! We wish you all the best!
