A local teacher is doing her part to bring a little bit of the classroom home for the parents of her students.

That's just part of the reason why Miss Jenny Wince is October's Jan Dils Golden Apple award winner.

WTAP's Kim Lucey surprised Miss Wince at an assembly at Belmont Elementary School in Pleasants County Tuesday.

Miss Wince was nominated for a special project of hers. She puts together DVD's of her kindergarten students school year so parents and grandparents can feel included in the learning process.

Miss Jenny Wince, Belmont Elementary: "It's something they can look at years later and their kids can look at years later and remember what they did in kindergarten. There are so many teachers that do so much and it's amazing. I couldn't imagine doing anything else."
