100 Year Old Wirt County Home Burns To Ground
A 100-year-old Wirt County home burned to the ground early Tuesday morning around 3:00am along Shrine Broughton Road.

A 100-year-old Wirt County home burned to the ground early Tuesday morning around 3:00am along Shrine Broughton Road. 10 firefighters from the Elizabeth-Wirt Firefighters Department responded, a tanker crew from Jackson County's Silvertone Department was also called out to help battle the fire.
Wirt County Fire Chief, Bryon Garrett, says the homeowner got out safely. The farmhouse, described as a country get away, also burned to the ground and as a result the cause of the fire can not be determined.
