Some people were able to catch a glimpse of history as it made its way up the Ohio River Tuesday morning.
A World War II tank landing ship passed through the Mid-Ohio Valley on its way to Wheeling where it will remain for five days, and then on to Pittsburgh for a six day visit.
The LST 325, which now calls Evansville, Indiana home, was designed to land battle-ready tanks, troops and supplies directly onto enemy shores.
If you missed the vessel Tuesday, it will be docked in Marietta during the Sternwheel Festival, with tours available September 10 - 14.
