Even though it still has more than a day to go...organizers of the Washington County fair are pleased at the attendance at the four-day event so far.
More than 8,600 attended the fair's first day Saturday...and nearly 7,900 came Sunday.
Both attendance totals were above last year's totals...and the 2009 figures were better than those of 2008.
And the turnout has been good news for fair vendors.
"Sales everywhere at the fair have been good, including at the french fry trailer," says Ohlen Cartmell, a vendor at the Marietta Noon Lions Club french fry stand. "We sold out last night, and had to restock this morning."
The good numbers can be attributed to one thing...good weather...which continued Monday and may continue into the fair's last day Tuesday.
