Fund-raising is nothing new for political candidates...but it wasn't campaigning going on at the Washington County Fair Monday morning.
The three candidates for the county commission...Nate Wooley, Tim Irvine, and Joe Matthews...raised funds for the fair, with the one raising the least having to kiss a pig.
By the noon deadline...it was Matthews who got the doubtful honor.
"It's not a bad time (to raise money) if there are people here," said a resigned Matthews. "But the midway doesn't open until noon, so there's not a lot of people here right now."
The three are candidates in the November election to succeed retiring commissioner Sam Cook.
