Working on a holiday is never fun. Unless, you were working at the Vienna Police Department.
Vienna Police officers were surprised with lunch courtesy of the Olive Garden on Labor Day Monday, complete with salad, breadsticks, spaghetti and tiramisu.
Officials say they were honored to be remembered on the holiday.
"Well, all the guys appreciate it," says Sgt. Rod Shuman, Vienna Police Department. "Most people are out on their own with their families celebrating the holiday. Police workers are here working, stuck at the office. It's good to have these guys come in and supply us with a meal for lunch."
Gary Kerr, the General Manager of the Olive Garden in Vienna, says he's glad to work with a company that recognizes hard work.
"We help to take care of the people who take care of us all through the year," Kerr says. "And it's just great that we work for a company that allows us to do this for people."
This is the ninth consecutive year Olive Garden has celebrated Labor Day by serving the community.
