Fifteen area kids are riding in style after winning bikes in the third annual Washington County Sheriff's Office Bicycle Contest.
Monday afternoon, the kids, ranging from one to fifteen, picked up their bikes under the Sheriff's tent at the county fair.
Parents say they're grateful for a program like this.
"She was very excited. She saw the bike and she just started grinning and smiling," says Johnna Smith, Parent of Bike Winner.
"Last night, when we called them, the number they gave us, there was a lot of excitement. You can hear some of them in the background saying "I won, I won" and I think it's something they'll remember," says Sheriff Larry Mincks, Washington County.
The bikes were paid for by AEP Waterford and Muskingum River Plants.
The Marietta Health Department donated the helmets
