Wood County homeowners could soon see federal money coming their way after years of dealing with damages from flooding.
Some property owners in the Happy Valley area are getting $936,750.00 dollars through the Hazard Mitigation Grant program.
President of the Wood County Commission, David Blair Couch, said the money will go directly to families in the area who have been bought out by the federal government, in an effort to get homes out of the flood plain.
Couch said not all of the Happy Valley residents are happy with the money. "It's not an easy process for the homeowner, I really feel for them. I can't imagine. Some of them want to stay there so they wont be included till the end."
The completion date for the project is set for August 11th 2013.
