The Marietta Fire Department needed new air packs, they just bought six and Monday fire fighters learned how to use them.
Chief Tom Dempsey says the old air packs were over thirty years old and needed to be replaced.
The new packs are more high tech, so Monday, a trainer stopped by to give the fire fighters a quick lesson.
"We're going to be trained on the basic use of them and then how to care for them. We have a very good maintenance program and so he's going to be training us on how to disinfect them after a fire or chemical incident, what kinds of cleaners we can use and what we can't," says Chief Dempsey.
Chief Dempsey says the department still needs 26 additional packs.
They plan on applying for grant money from Homeland Security later this week.
