A Wirt County home went up in flames Tuesday afternoon, and the home itself posed problems for firefighters.

Eastwood and Elizabeth volunteer firefighters responded to this home in Little Kanawha Estates, off of Newark Road.

Officials say the residents, Hope Wyman and her four children were at her mother's house next door when the fire started in the attic area.

It's a mobile home, with added construction around it, so firefighters had a hard time getting to the flames.

"We had fire in between the trailer roof and the attic which makes it pretty difficult. Difficult fire to fight," Elizabeth VFD Chief Douglas Hill says.

The state fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
