After an extensive bomb search, classes were held Friday at Athens High School.

Officials say an unknown student wrote a note on a desk saying the school would explode on May 9th.

It was already erased and not reported to school officials until well after it was written.

Athens high school notified officials of the threat Thursday.

Officials and explosive searching dogs swept the school. Extra security and continued searches also took place throughout the evening before students reported to class Friday morning.
