Washington State Community College is working to pull the economy of Ohio forward through education.

President of Washington State Community College, Dr. Charlotte Hatfield says they're serving employers to see what they need to create a stronger workforce. In addition to community members who need better jobs.

She says now is the time to apply for scholarships and federal financial aid if you want to take classes this summer or fall.

"There's a direct correlation between the amount of learning an individual has and the amount they can earn for their wage or salary. The better educated work force we have, the more successful people will be for their quality of life and the state of Ohio will be," said Dr. Hatfield.

The college is also looking to expand its Health Sciences Programs with a new building.

Dr. Hatfield says they're conducting a feasibility study, have already hired an architect to come up with the design, and have requests in to federal and state legislators for support.
