Look to see a large number of Independents casting ballots for the two political parties in Tuesday's primary.

Secretary of State Betty Ireland says that, while cross-over voting isn't allowed in West Virginia, independent voters can ask for Democratic or Republican party ballots during state primaries.

Normally, independents can cast ballots only on issues and non-partisan races if they don't ask for Democratic or Republican ballots.

Ireland says figures on independent voting from the just-concluded early voting aren't available yet.

76,000 people statewide voted in early voting, which ended Saturday.
