A man and his daughter were on a second floor porch Tuesday evening, when it collapsed sending both of them crashing to the ground.

It happened at about 6:45 at a home on Fourth Avenue in Vienna.

Deputy Fire Chief Steve Scholl says Denver Hayes and Katrina Massey fell ten to twelve feet to the ground.

They were taken to a hospital with some cuts and bruises.

Scholl says they believe the old wood just gave away.
