They weren't graduating from college or high school, but some area students received a very special diploma Thursday.
5th and 8th graders at Warren Elementary graduated from the D.A.R.E. Program Thursday morning.
The ten week program is ran by the Washington County Sheriff's Department and teaches students how to live a drug and alcohol free life.
"They talk quite a bit about the negative aspects of drug and alcohol addiction and how it can negatively impact your life. The goal obviously then is to encourage students to steer clear of that life choice," says Superintendent of Warren Local Schools Tom Gibbs.
There are twenty-two D.A.R.E. programs in Washington County alone.
