A Washington County man accused of holding officers at an all night standoff and shooting an officer will go to trial.
Monday Jason Berecz was found competent to stand trial.
In April Berecz held police on an eight hour standoff and fired more than 50 rounds before the swat team got him into custody.
One of those shots hit an officer in the face.
Berecz faces 17 indictments. Three of those are attempted murder counts and five are for felonious assault.
He had plead not guilty by reason of insanity. Now that he has been found competent his trial is set to begin August 5th.
