Yes I think the same thing Also good one gran It's the truth we don't need them in there

Posted by: Joe Location: Parkersburg on Jun 21, 2008 at 06:28 AM
I was just wondering if the republican national party is part owner in the shop ? Because they seem to influence the message .

Good thinking Rubins. When we have a candidate and his wife who show no regard for our flag or country why not ship them to where they can enjoy people with the same name and ideals.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 18, 2008 at 11:21 PM
Are these people against the idea of rubin's deli truly upset because of the delis free advertisement or because they didn't think of it first. Also, those of you who said you wouldn't go back just because the opinion was spoken is that really a good reason not to go back. I mean are you totally against freedom of speech. if their food is good then eat don't choose to or not to just because they decided to step up and speak their voice. And I really have to agree no matter who gets office we are still screwed because once they are elected they do whatever they want. I'm not saying don't vote, but I'm saying don't expect everything each campaignee says to come true most of them lie their asses off to get into office and then do the opposite of what they said they would anyway. We do however have a choice of which liar we choose.

Google PKSBG I’m not for McCain either so got off WTAP and the Republicans. This election has given us the worst choices ever for President. So either find the humor or get over it. Also Deanna you made me laugh my in-laws call me Jacka$$. Thanks for noticing! PS Get a dictionary.

By the way...we get more business than before. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and we will see you next week.

I find it really pathetic that folks "would not step foot" in Rubins over a silly sign. I suppose they do NOT support freedom of speech. They remind me of people who vote straight tickets, you know the ones which I speak of, the mental giants. Also I think if you knew Brad, you would realize that he is just trying to stimulate your minds.

Hey Ted-I was not trying to be funny.Michelle said she was finally proud to be an american. It is on tape it did happen! So,if she is going to slam my country then i will slam her.Maybe you people should research who Obama's business partners and friends are. Tells me to conserve fuel, but he flies his friends to where he is on the campaign to play BASKETBALL!

Posted by: Brooks Location: Parkersburg on Jun 18, 2008 at 08:01 AM
Maybe try researching a bit about Michelle, before you slam her. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/18/us/politics/18michelle.html?pagewanted=1

Posted by: Brooks Location: Parkersburg on Jun 18, 2008 at 07:30 AM
Well, hopefully, if Obama wins..Michelle will be a refreshing first lady, unlike the stepford wife of Bush. But Michelle won't be the President...Hillary would have, and we would have had the added hassle of her husband haunting the White House interns again. But hey, keep up with your silly sign, and keep beleiving everything the Media relates as fact...when of course...most of it's been distorted and taken out of context. Just a thought, people don't put themselves through the rigors of a National Campaign, expose their family to ridicule, to run for President of a Country that they hate.

Posted by: Ted on Jun 17, 2008 at 10:25 PM
I didn't find Michelle comment humors at all about being proud of being an american for the first time. Thank Goodness Hiliary dropped out. Don't care for McCain because he's for illegels immigrants that get paid cheap wages. Congress needs to stop pandering to illegels for votes...This Nov send both house, and senate packing lock the doors.. Clean house if you will...

Posted by: Ginger Location: Parkersburg on Jun 17, 2008 at 09:50 PM
The point isnt about having a smile only first lady... everyone complained about controlling Hillary, well Michelle isnt even truelly proud to be an American so I ask you this do you really want her as your first lady? Ohh and Bill may have slept with an intern or 30 haha but atleast he is a proud American

So, Rubin's will be losing patrons because of the sign's statements. Well, the other side of that is--maybe he will GAIN patrons because of those same statements!

Posted by: Kay Location: North End on Jun 17, 2008 at 09:09 PM
He/she who doesn't have a sense of humor has no sense at all........I enjoy the signs and anything that makes us smile during these hard economic times is good.

Posted by: angela Location: lubeck on Jun 17, 2008 at 08:52 PM
I cannot believe, that this is making news.I cannot also believe that the owner of this deli is taking up space on his board with his useless opinions.this is not news worthy, and certainly not worthy of traffic accidents so people can look too see what his next opinion is.are you for real wtap and rubins deli?

Posted by: annon Location: Ohio on Jun 17, 2008 at 08:30 PM
Google, buy a business and you too can put up a sign...Until then, Go Rubin!

Posted by: eric Location: little hocking on Jun 17, 2008 at 08:05 PM
seriously...does he really think ANYBODY could be as bad as hillary? i mean come on, she only wanted the presidency to say that she was the first woman president. she was after a title and her little place in history. if she would have gotten the office, i would HATE to think of where we would be as a nation. Not that we are in such a great place now, but at least Obama will elavate this great nation to a better status than where we are now. i have seen the 'i hate war' commercial for McCain and im calling it a LIE! he hates war, but yet is FOR the war in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN. If he had his way, we'd be in IRAN next and, as powerful as our military is, IRAN would hand our behinds to us!

Posted by: John Location: Belpre on Jun 17, 2008 at 05:26 PM
Why is it allways the other side who says dont let him say his mind.I thought that is what this country was founded on.I think they are just sorry they didn't think of it themselves. I did my time. I may not agree whith you but I will defend your right to say it!

Posted by: jane Location: parkersburg on Jun 17, 2008 at 03:28 PM
I agree Google. I WILL NEVER patronize that business again. I guess the owner won't be happy unless he has a "smile only" first lady, like the one we have now. God forbid the first lady have a brain.

Posted by: Paula Location: Reno on Jun 17, 2008 at 01:39 PM
Hit it right on the mark!!!

Posted by: Linda Location: Parkersburg on Jun 17, 2008 at 01:06 PM
It really doesn't matter who gets in the white house, we're still screwed!

Posted by: barry Location: ohio on Jun 17, 2008 at 01:02 PM
Michelle says she is finally proud to be an american.Yeah, that is a statement i want to hear from my first lady! What a disgrace! If socialist obama is elected you will not have to worry about eating at Rubins. They will not be able to pay all the taxes needed to stay in business.

Posted by: jojo Location: Parkersburg on Jun 17, 2008 at 12:46 PM
You guys have no sense of humor. Think about it.

Posted by: anonymous Location: Vienna on Jun 17, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Doesn't this guy realize that putting up these stupid signs is going to lose him alot of customers. I know I will never go there again.

Posted by: ken Location: south parkersburg on Jun 17, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Get over yourself googe! We as republicans, have and will always have to be subject to the reporting of the liberal media. Every news station in this country has a liberal point of view on things and for once our local news station in giving the other side a chance to have it's say. I say if you don't like how the news is reported, then go watch cnn. I would just like to say, thank you Roger Sheppard, for allowing us to have our opinions and not be denied by the media because we don't see eye to eye with the liberal side!

Posted by: Sandy Location: Little Hocking on Jun 17, 2008 at 11:02 AM
At least Obama will not cheat with an intern. Hillary just wants attention, since Bill pays all of his to the interns. McCain is clueless. The best choice is Obama. Might as well enjoy.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 17, 2008 at 10:29 AM
Ugh I am SO sick of this useless reporting WTAP. Please, lets cover some thing a little more important than the Rubins Deli sign. Keep it on Daybreak not on your headline news list... enough is enough. And Mr. Rubins Deli owner, keep it to youself.

Posted by: Google Location: Pkgs on Jun 17, 2008 at 09:33 AM
I really don't think that this is appropriate for WTAP. First of all, it is free advertising for him. Secondly, although we have freedom of speech, he is using his business to promote his political views. By broadcasting these signs, WTAP is allowing free advertising for a political party. As a proud democrat, I will never again step foot in this establishment. WTAP should be ashamed. They are literally endorsing the Republican party by making these signs, "Headline news."
