Four people, including a school bus driver and a student, are hospitalized following a school bus - van accident on U.S. Route 50 at the intersection of Ohio Route 329, near the Marathon / Guysville Food Mart in Athens County.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says an unidentified student and the bus driver, 47-year old Pamela Washburn of Coolville, were taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens.

The occupants of the van, 50-year old driver Caren Coleman and 33-year-old passenger Melvin Stone of MacArthur, Ohio, were taken by medical helicopter to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.

Lieutenant David Alkire of the Ohio Highway Patrol says preliminary evidence indicates the bus pulled out from Ohio Route 329 onto U.S. Route 50 in front of the van.
